The Vow

The Vow is a romantic movie, not conventional at all: that's what caught me the most about its story. The plot is quite easy and straightforward: a couple meets under a very particular circumstance of destiny, they start dating, fall in love, get married... but nothing can be perfect if there is no change... A tragedy happens: the couple is involve in a car accident, and the girl loses her memory. The worst part is that the girl, Rachel McAdams, has no memory of anything about her relationship with her husband, Channing Tatum, and what both go through is extremely difficult to overcome.

We have this situation in which the girl did not lose her memory completely. It's like if suddenly you wake up one day and you believed that you are 14... Complex, because over the years, relationships with people change and evolve.

At the beginning the authors say that the film it is based on real life events... Wow! It is confirmed now that more often than we think reality overcomes fiction.
The movie discusses a lot of things... Like what would you do to regain the love of your life? Could you let it go to be happy? Does destiny exist? And I think the best of all is the way “The Vow” answers each of these questions, it is the finesse in which each of these topics gives life to the film.

We do not know what fate has prepared for us: can it bring joy to us? Tragedies? Changes? If there is something you can learn from this film is that you have to face them all always, with the willingness to overcome all that is going to get in the way.

There is also somehow something magic in this movie, literally. But it is so subtle that it does not become evident until the final moments of the film. This is the greatest strength of “The Vow”: it tells us that there are some things beyond our power, and especially the film teaches us that we have to let some situations flow and have faith... not in a religious sense, but in every sense of the word.

Now I don’t know what you think about destiny, but I feel that sometimes certain situations were predetermined to happen: they can be like tests or moments that mark our lives but I believe everything happens for a reason.

“The Vow” is a film that I liked quiet a lot, especially because it has a different approach to the average romantic movie. The performances are quite good and the pace of the film is quite entertaining, making it perfectly fit for everyone.
